Hartnell down 2-4 weeks, Vinny down 7 days

About 90 minutes before the start of Saturday's Flyers-Red Wings tilt, Philly GM Paul Holmgren confirmed to a team insider that Scott Hartnell will miss 2-to-4 weeks of action with what CSN's Tim Panaccio calls a "stabbing pain" in his upper body.

The news was better for Vinny Lecavalier, who is only slated to miss a week of play.

Both were injured in Friday night's 2-1 home loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.

It's the second dose of bad luck for Hartnell in a span of nine months. The ginger forward suffered a broken bone in his foot in the third game of last season in late January and missed more than a month.

Lecavalier had come on strong in his first five games as a Flyer, with many considering him the best overall player the club has seen during their 1-4-0 start. He was tied for the team lead in points with three, but Hartnell had failed to crack the scoresheet this season.
