Blockbuster: Ford dealt to Columbus

The Flyers announced a minor trade on Tuesday afternoon, shipping forward prospect Matt Ford to the Columbus Blue Jackets for future considerations.

The move opens up a contract slot in the CBA-mandated limit of 50 per team.

A 28-year-old winger out of California, Ford totaled four goals and 13 points in 35 games for the Phantoms this season.

He will report to Springfield of the AHL, per the Blue Jackets.

In other news this afternoon, the club loaned defenseman Erik Gustafsson to Adirondack in order to clear $900,000 of salary off the books.
