Eagles claim OL Menkin

(The Phanatic Magazine) - The Eagles have claimed rookie offensive lineman Nate Menkin off waivers from the Houston Texans and released CB Trevard Lindley.

Menkin (6-foot-4, 296) was originally signed by the Texans as a rookie free agent from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. He was a four-year letterman as an offensive tackle and earned AFCA All-America honors as a senior and was also named American Southwest Conference offensive lineman of the year.

The Lago Vista, TX, native helped clear the way for a UMHB rushing attack that averaged 291.0 rushing yards per game and 5.5 yards per rushing attempt in 2011. His team averaged 43.4 points and 451.6 yards of total offense per contest. Along the way, he earned first team all-conference honors and earned first team all-south region honors from D3football.com . Menkin was a two-time all-conference honoree during his collegiate career.
