The big news on this Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving, is that Vinny Lecavalier will miss the next two weeks with a lower-body injury.
Lecavalier, who can't seem to get rolling in any meaningful way without some sort of mishap slowing him down, was hit on the left foot by a shot from teammate Mark Streit during an early power-play chance in the Flyers' 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens Saturday night.
It's entirely likely that he assisted on Wayne Simmonds' second goal of the game, on a shot from the right side during another man advantage in the second period to give the hosts a 3-0 edge, having sustained the injury.
Lesser news came over the weekend from the Q, as defensive prospect Sam Morin was struck in the face with a puck and is estimated to be out for the next 4-to-5 weeks with a possible broken jaw.
