On Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced the release of linebacker Jake Knott with an injury settlement.
Knott, a second-year pro out of Iowa State, has not participated in a game this year due to a hamstring injury which kept him out of camp since August 1. He was cut on Aug. 23, shortly after it was revealed he would have to serve a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
The 23-year-old Iowa native saw action in 12 games last season, without the benefit of a start, primarily on special teams.
