PHILADELPHIA - Free-agent point guard Darius Morris is nearing an agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Yahoo Sports.
Morris, 22, is expected to sign a partially guaranteed contract for the 2013-14 season and play meaningful minutes for the rebuilding team.
Morris has good size at 6-foot-4 and is very quick but wasn't able to crave out substantial playing time for the Los Angeles Lakers after the team drafted him in the second round out of Michigan back in 2011. He averaged four points and 1.6 assists in 14.2 minutes per game for Los Angeles last season.
Morris turned down a chance to return to the Lakers for the promise of more playing time with the Sixers.
