Union MF Torres has knee surgery
Chester, PA (The Phanatic Magazine) - Popular Union midfielder Roger Torres underwent successful surgery on Friday morning after sustaining an MCL sprain and minor meniscus damage in a 4-2 reserve league win against the New England Revolution on Monday.
The 20-year-old is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks of action.
The diminutive Torres has scored three goals and registered nine assists in 1,961 total minutes with the Union since joining the club before the 2010 season.
On loan in 2010 and 2011, Philadelphia exercised their option to retain Torres' services this past offseason, completing a transfer from Colombian side America de Cali.
