Stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry Process came and went on Wednesday, and as anticipated there was plenty of player movement. Goalkeeper Chris Seitz was selected by the Seattle Sounders with the ninth pick in the first round, and midfielder Fred was selected by the New England Revolution with the fourth pick of the second round. The Union passed with the third overall selection.
Fred started in 24 matches for the Union in 2010, registering four goals and an assist in 1,913 minutes. Chris Seitz started 22 matches, posting a 1.8 GAA, 0.596 save percentage and 5-12-6 record in 2,047 minutes. Brad Knighton replaced Seitz as Philadelphia's starting goalkeeper for seven of the last eight matches of the season.
