Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Antonio Alfonseca has been suspended for four games and fined an
undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing a pitch at Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies in the top of the seventh inning of last night’s game at Citizens Bank Park.
Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Alfonseca has filed an appeal. Thus, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is
complete.
