EA Sports has begun releasing its top 5 rated players at each position for the upcoming Madden NFL 15 game, and a pair of Philadelphia Eagles check in at offense.

While the Eagles expect to again have an explosive offense under second-year head coach Chip Kelly, neither Nick Foles nor a Birds wide receiver show up. However, both running back LeSean McCoy and offensive lineman Evan Mathis get virtual respect.

McCoy is the second-highest rated running back in the game at 97 overall, behind only Minnesota's Adrian Peterson and his 98 overall rating.

Here is what Madding Ratings Czar Donny Moore said of McCoy on the official EA Sports website, easports.com.

"McCoy's 99 Elusiveness (tied with Jamaal Charles, ranked first in NFL), 99 AGI (first), and 98 ACC (first) make Shady a very dangerous man in Madden NFL 15.”

Mathis, meanwhile, comes in second among offensive lineman, wit his 97 rating a point behind Joe Thomas of Cleveland. Per Moore:

Evan Mathis is one of the best follows on Twitter, and he's also the best run blocker in Madden NFL 15 with a 99 Run Block rating.”

That sure makes it sound like gamers who play as the Eagles will be running Shady behind Mathis all game long.

At other positions, both Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers are tied for the top QB rating at 98 overall, while Calvin Johnson gets the desired 99 rating at wide receiver. Dallas wideout Dez Bryant makes an appearance on the list at 94 overall.

Jimmy Graham of the Saints is the top tight end at 97, leading a list that also includes Jason Witten (93 overall) of the Cowboys.

The website is in the midst of unleashing the Top 5 at defensive positions, though it would appear unlikely that the Eagles would be represented there. We'll bring you a full recap when the entire list is out.

Madden also released its top-rated rookies for the newest edition of the game, with Eagles first-round pick Marcus Smith not ranking to no surprise.

Madden NFL 15 is set to be released for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 on Aug. 26. You can preorder the game here: http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/buy/US
