Flyers injury updates

It certainly has been an eventful road trip thus far for the Philadelphia Flyers, with three successes and one small failure.

With two more games to go on the holiday run, and one more day before the next stop in Glendale, Paul Holmgren issued injury updates on several players.

Matt Read, who left the game in Calgary on New Year's Eve and has yet to return to the ice, has a still-unspecified upper-body injury and will be a game-time decision.

Michael Raffl did indeed suffer a concussion in last night's 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. He is ruled out tomorrow and will be evaluated by club doctors when team returns to Philadelphia next week.

That could spell doom for the Austrian rookie, who was named to his native country's Olympic roster. Raffl had also been considered for the NHL's Rookie of the Month for December, eventually losing out to goalies Martin Jones and Antti Raanta.

Erik Gustafsson, who has been shelved with an unspecified lower-body injury, is expected to be healed and back in the lineup somewhere in the 7-10 day range.
