PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles have signed their 2013 third-round draft selection, defensive tackle Bennie Logan to a four-year contract.
A 2012 All-SEC second-team selection by the Associated Press, Logan (6-foot-2, 309) was a key contributor on one of the nation’s top defensive line units at LSU, tallying 107 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and five sacks during his three-year career.
Logan, 23, appeared in all 13 games (12 starts) as a junior in 2012 and recorded 45 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two blocked field goals and three pass breakups for a defense that ranked in the top 10 in the country in run defense (ninth) and total defense (eighth).
A leader on and off of the field, Logan was selected to wear the number “18” in 2012, an honor that is presented by the LSU coaches, training staff and equipment staff to a player who possesses a selfless attitude, quality leadership and good character. A native of Coushatta, LA, Logan was a four-year starter at Red River High School and earned District 3-2A Defensive MVP and 2A first-team honors as a senior after registering 116 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss and 15 sacks
