MOBILE, Ala. – Temple senior RB Montel Harris (Jacksonville, Fla.) has been added to the inaugural Senior Bowl Watch List this week.
The top 100 seniors in the country will be invited to participate in the 2013 Senior Bowl, set for Saturday, January 26 in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. It is important to note that appearing on the Watch List is not a requirement for a player to earn an invitation to the showcase event.
Harris transferred to Temple last summer for his fifth and final season of eligibility. He received his degree in communications from Boston College in 2012. The ACC’s all-time career rusher (3,735 yards), Harris leads all returning BCS players in career rushing yards. He is a preseason All-America selection by Phil Steele.
Harris is the national leaders in career 100-yard rushing games. The Temple newcomer had 22 career 100-yard rushing games during his tenure at Boston College.
In his debut as an Owl, Harris rushed for 12 yards on five carries in limited play in the first half against Villanova. He joined the starting line-up for the first time against Penn State and rushed 10 times for 23 yards while leading the Owls with three receptions for 42 yards.
“The Senior Bowl is very pleased to announce our first-ever ‘official’ Watch List,” Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage said. “We want both college and pro football fans to enjoy tracking the players on our list as they begin their journey towards the Senior Bowl and the 2013 NFL Draft. We have included prospects from almost every level of the college game and look forward to monitoring their progress throughout the upcoming season.”
