The NBA trade deadline went by without any big names -- Vince Carter, Mike Bibby, Pau Gasol -- finding new homes, but look on the bright side.
Alan Henderson was sent to Salt Lake City, Utah along with some cash for the rights to switch second-round drafts picks with the Jazz this season.
The 34-year-old Henderson was averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 34 games for the Sixers this season. The 12-year veteran has career averages of 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds with Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas and the Sixers.
Trading Henderson, who was making the veteran minimum of $1.18 million, sheds about $700,00 and gives the Sixers some breathing room below the $65.42 million luxury tax number.
