For the 32nd time in franchise history, at least two members of the Philadelphia Flyers will represent the team an an All-Star weekend.
This season, it's no surprise that team and NHL-leading scorer Jakub Voracek along with line mate and team captain Claude Giroux were tabbed to make the list. On Saturday night, the NHL published its complete list for the upcoming ASG weekend in Columbus, Ohio, scheduled for January 24-25 at Nationwide Arena.
Voracek tops the ledger with 16 goals and 50 points, while Giroux ranks fifth at 46 points (14G, 32A), and the only other player on the roster deserving of special consideration is the injured Steve Mason. Mason, however, is injured but his 8-12-6 record despite a 2.46 goals-against average and .920 save percentage won't cut it among the league's elite.
Jeff Carter in 2008-09 was the last time a lone member of the Orange and Black was invited to take part in the mid-season festivities.
Former Flyers and current Nashville Predators head coach Peter Laviolette will lead one team, as his club racked up the highest winning percentage in the league at its midway point.
