Only days after being released by the Phillies, outfielder Tony Gwynn, Jr. has apparently been coaxed back.
The Daily News reported late Sunday that the younger Gwynn was re-signed and is expected to report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Prior to being set free on June 28, Gwynn hit just .163 with three RBI in 67 appearances with the Phillies this season, his first major-league action since 2012 for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
