The strange and not-so-wonderful journey of Vincent Lecavalier this season has taken another unexpected turn.
On Sunday morning, the Flyers sent the injury-riddled center back to Philadelphia for further evaluation of a back injury which kept him out of the lineup a third straight time in a 5-1 loss in Dallas on Saturday afternoon.
"Vinny Lecavalier skated yesterday (Dec. 7) in Dallas. It is the team's
decision this morning for Lecavalier to return to Philadelphia for
further evaluation by our medical staff. It is undecided if he will join
the team in Chicago," said Flyers GM Paul Holmgren.
In addition, defenseman Kimmo Timonen, who didn't play past the second period, was listed as day-to-day with an unspecified upper-body injury.
