Temple University may not have to go far, in distance or philosophy, to fill its vacant head football
coaching position.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News on Friday, sources indicate that former offensive
coordinator Matt Rhule -- who spent six years on the Owls' staff before leaving
this season to take a post with the New York Giants -- can be named to the
position as early as Monday.
Rhule is believed to be one of only two men considered for the post, along
with former Temple defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio, who left with Al Golden
when the latter became Miami-Florida head coach.
Steve Addazio, who finished 13-11 in his two seasons as head coach, departed
to take the same job at Boston College on Dec. 4.
