The Philadelphia Wings return for a 27th season of major indoor lacrosse, beginning their National Lacrosse League campaign on January 11 at home against the rival Buffalo Bandits.
Led by head coach Johnny Mouradian, they will look to reverse a losing 2012 campaign, a 7-9 season which was only good enough for a third-place finish in the East. Despite a playoff berth, the Wings lost a 14-13 decision to Rochester in the Division Semifinals.
A once proud franchise, Philadelphia hasn't had a winning season since going 10-6 in 2008. Prior to that, a 10-4 finish and league title in 2001 was the team's best finish.
The Wings have won six indoor titles: 1989-90, 1994-95 with the defunct Major Indoor Lacrosse League, then 1998 and '01 in the National Lacrosse League.
