Chester, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union have declined the contract options of five players from its current roster, including veteran striker Conor Casey.
The club also declined its options on midfielders Corben Bone and Fred along with forwards Brian Brown and
Cristhian Hernandez. Additionally, midfielder Brian Carroll's deal has expired.
"The ongoing discussions we have regarding roster decisions are
obviously difficult," said Union technical director Chris Albright. "We
will continue to have an open dialogue with several players about their
respective futures with our club and we’ll have further announcements to
share as we continue to build our roster for the 2015 season.”
The Union currently has 24 players under contract from a team that reached its first Open Cup final in team history.

Defenders (7): Fabinho, Austin Berry, Ray Gaddis, Richie Marquez, Carlos Valdes, Ethan White, Sheanon Williams

Forwards (5): Antoine Hoppenot, Sebastien Le Toux, Pedro Ribeiro, Andrew Wenger, Aaron Wheeler
