PHILADELPHIA - Three graduated starters from Saint Joseph's 2014 Atlantic 10 Champion team - Langston Galloway, Halil Kanacevic and Ronald Roberts, Jr. - have all been invited to play in the upcoming NBA Summer Leagues in Orlando and Las Vegas.
Roberts, an Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team selection, will play
for the 76ers in the Orlando Pro Summer
League, which runs from July 5-11 at the Amway Center. He will also play
for the Miami Heat at the NBA Summer League at the Mack Center at UNLV
from July 11-21.
The
6-foot-8 forward averaged a career-best 14.4 points while grabbing 7.4
rebounds per game. He shot 60.0 percent from the field and finished his
career ranked second on the all-time list for career field goal
percentage (57.0). Roberts, who was an A-10 All-Championship Team
honoree, totaled 1,398 points and 861 rebounds in his four years.
Galloway, the Hawks' leading scorer and All-A-10 First Team honoree, will play for the New York Knicks in Las Vegas. The 6-2 guard finished his career as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,991 points and as SJU's all-time leader in three-pointers with 334.
Galloway topped the team with a career-best 17.7 points per game and 108 three-point field goals, while converting 44.3 percent from behind the arc. One of SJU's most reliable players, he set the school record with 132 games started. An Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team selection in 2014, he earned All-Big 5 honors for three consecutive years.
Kanacevic, who was the Most Outstanding Performer at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship, will participate in the Las Vegas league for the Denver Nuggets.
The 6-8 forward made his mark as one of the most unique players in school history, as the 6-8 forward topped the team in rebounds (8.8), assists (4.38) and blocks (1.53), while averaging 10.8 points per game. He finished his career with over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, totals which included his freshman season at Hofstra. Kanacevic was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 A-10 Championship.
