Nike has no deal with Vick

Numerous media sources reported that Nike re-signed Michael Vick to an endorsement deal on Wednesday, a strange development since the company used words like abhorrent and inhumane to describe Vick after originally dropping him during the dogfighting scandal.

The p.r. people must have been on furlough when that news broke. Sensing the obvious backlash that would result Nike released a statement today saying it does NOT have a "contractual relationship" with Vick but has "agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike."
