UPDATE: Kalas died at 1:20 p.m., the Phillies announced.

The cause of the death has not yet been announced.

Today's game against the Nationals will be played, but the team will not visit the White House tomorrow as scheduled.

Kalas, who turned 73 on March 26, has broadcast over 6,000 Phillies games since 1971 and was also the voice of NFL Films. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002 as the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award. "Harry the K" began his career on the Houston Astros’ broadcast team from 1965-70.

"We lost our voice today," Montgomery said. "Harry meant so much to this team and organization."
